Qu Yuan served as minister to the Zhou Emperor. A wise and articulate man, he was loved by the common people. Therefore, when he urged the emperor to avoid conflict with the Qin Kingdom, the officials pressured the Emperor to have him removed from service. In exile, he traveled, taught and wrote for several years. Hearing that the Zhou had been defeated by the Qin, he fell into despair and threw himself into the Milou River. His last poem reads:

As he was so loved by the people, fishermen rushed out in long boats, beating drums to scare the fish away, and throwing zong zi into the water to feed braver fish so that they would not eat Qu Yuan"s body.
The Modern Dragon Boat Festival started from that time to this day, people commemorated Qu Yuan through Dragon Boat Races, eating zong zi, and several other activities, on the anniversary of his death: the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
Dragon Boat races are the most exciting part of the festival, drawing crowds of spectators. Dragon Boats are generally brightly painted and decorated canoes. Ranging anywhere from 40 to 100 feet in length, their heads are shaped like open-mouthed dragons, while the sterns end with a scaly tail. Depending on the length, up to 80 rowers can power the boat. A drummer and flag-catcher stand at the front of the boat. Before a dragon boat enters competition, it must be "brought to life" by painting the eyes in a sacred ceremony. Races can have any number of boats competing, with the winner being the first team to grab a flag at the end of the course. Annual races take place all over China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and other overseas Chinese communities.

不知是谁喊了一声：“划来了，划来了。”，人们的注意力都集中在江边远处的白点，那白点慢慢的向我们这里“移”来。不久，3我们看得清——那是十几条龙船。上面的人齐心协力的划着。每条龙船都有一个打鼓的，听人们说是指挥划船的人的，让他们跟着拍划，因为这样才能划得整齐。在人们的加油声中，分出了胜负，先到达终点的是那条“白龙”。紧跟上“白龙”的是一条“红龙”，再来的是：“黄龙，这”三条龙“就是赛龙舟的三强了。就这样端午节在欢声笑语中渡过了。

我们在山东省枣庄市峄城区东方国际学校八年级十二班里（准确一点应该是九年级十二班），在我们班里有一个BOSS，他就是我们的班主任——楮英杰(作文《我看身边人》里有记载，还因为写的这篇作文发表了，被他看到，发现里面没说他好话，就把我叫到办公室里训了一顿、揍了一顿，还说语文老师文采也不咋地，就显他管了，教英语，语文狗屁不通，就会英语，外语和家乡语到底哪个重要？)。他简直就是人渣中的极品嘴里说一套，手里做一套，说过的话大部分都沉到太平洋底了，只有一小部分兑现了。
有的时候不分青红皂白的训斥学生，而且还是当全班人的面，不给留一点面子，其实，我们在班里给他留面子，在办公室里才和他说理。他做事的原则是“宁可错杀1000，也不放过一个，2012年晚，考了一天的试，大家都累了，晚上在宿舍里有几个睡不着觉聊天玩，不知不觉就聊到了23点，被值班老师发现了，就是没捉到那几人，结果，第二天，他在班里面说：“除了走读生外，说有的男生都做好心理准备。”他当时要把住校的男生全部调查一遍，这就是“宁可错杀1000，也不放过一个。”在此之前，还没到下班时间就跑到学校食堂去吃饭，而我们没放学为何不能去吃饭？为何“只许教师放火，不许学生点灯，”难道老师就可以随所欲为吗？
难道当班主任就很了不起吗？
班主任（级部副主任）总以为自己很厉害，老是和付主任（级部正主任）比，比不过说自己低调让着他，这种老师就是孔子的头……
大家都知道，心情好了自然会笑，哪条法律规定学生不能笑？他却不让我们笑，2012年6月5日，我语文助学忘了写，到后面补去。我个人整天都面带微笑，结果他见我站后面补作业还笑，就说我嬉皮笑脸，没正经，奥，他能管的，一个班主任能厉害的，连笑都不让笑，他笑吗的？在语文课他一个英语老师算个屁，还好我们语文老师和蔼可亲允许他撒野，要不然早把他踹出去了。整天上别的课，趴窗口看我们，看什么看？就显他海拔高。学校里规定教师上课不许接电话，就他接，不论什么电话都接，刚上课，电话就响了，跑出去接去，别的老师听课的时候就不接，就给我们12班11班上课的时候接，就会装样子，面前说付主任好话，背后说他坏话，两面派一个。他还动不动就停学生的课，有的人只要一犯错，就让他到办公室里蹲着去，有时候停一节课、两节课；有时停三节课、四节课甚至一上午或一下午。行为令人反感。
我们班摊上这么一个班主任，谁为我们做主啊？
