奥运会英语作文篇(1):奥运会的英语作文

"The Games of the 29th Olympiad in 2008 are awarded to the city of Beijing."
The International Olympic Committee selected the Chinese capital as the 2008 host in Friday"s vote during Juan Antonio Samaranch"s last IOC session as president. The attraction of staging the Games in a country which has the world"s largest population, as well as huge economic potential, won the IOC"s heart.
Beijing defeated four other bidding cities, including Toronto and Paris, to secure the country"s first-ever Olympics. Osaka was the first city to go out, and it only took one more round for Beijing to win the Olympic race.
The announcement, read out by the 81-year-old Samaranch, was answered with wild jubilation from the Chinese delegation in Moscow, and with fireworks in Beijing.IOC senior member Kim Un-Yong said after the voting that Beijing deserved the Olympic Games.
"Beijing is capable of staging a great Olympic Games," said the 71-year-old South Korean. "The result wasn"t a surprise to me."
With the motto "New Beijing, Great Olympics", Beijing promises to host a "Green Olympics", a "Hi-tech Olympics" and the "People"s Olympics".
The 3,000-year-old city is becoming a truly international city and showing a new, vigorous image through its ongoing economic reforms.
Beijing enjoys the widest popular support among the five bidding cities. A Gallup opinion poll commissioned by the government showed 94.9 percent of the public in favor of it. The IOC"s own surveys found support even higher. The Chinese government has pledged to spend 20 billion U.S. dollars building sports complexes and refurbishing the Beijing infrastructure. There are plans for a new exhibition center with twin skyscrapers that could be taller than any in the world.

奥运会英语作文篇(2):关于奥运的作文:我与奥运英语作文三篇_3000字

  我与奥运英语作文三篇
  我与奥运英语作文一
  New Beijing, Great Olympics
The 2008 Olympic Game has been the most cheerful and anticipated event throughout Beijing ever since Beijing was rewarded the right to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, yet the focus should be shifted from making a promise to fulfilling the
  promise made.
In my point of view, to bridge the gap between the promise and reality, Beijing still has a long way to go. To begin

with, infrastructure construction should be the primary concern. Such infrastructures as communications and transportation
system and facilities ought to draw our constant attention. First, traffic jam has been an age?old headache in Beijing. The
scene of long queues of vehicles worming their way inch by inch will surely cause great incontinence, and blemish the image
of the city meanwhile. Next, to add enchantment to convenience, overall city?planning is indispensable. Time permitting, a
redesign of city layout and adjustment of architectural style would provide a better environment for fostering the
characteristic, blending, oriental elegance with international grandeur, will tower aloft among surrounding architectures. To
achieve such effect, Beijing shall solicit opinions from first?rate architects and make an overall plan. Thirdly, quality of
the population should be improved. To make an international metropolis, both “hardware” and “software” are important.
However, Rome was not built in a day. To carry out the promise of “New Beijing, Great Olympics”, deeds speak louder than words.
  我与奥运英语作文二
Bidding for and hosting the Olympics successfully is, perhaps, the ultimate glory for a city. However, before transforming the dream into reality, the benefits and drawbacks of bidding for the Olympics should be weighed carefully.
Hosting the Olympics surely would bring about much gain to a city. Boom of the local economy, more jobs, and the possibility of generating income all sound extremely attractive to the municipal government. At the same time, better infrastructure, cleaner environment, enjoying the spectacular game with hundreds of sports elites and entertainment stars, and the opportunity of contacting people from all over the world also seem exciting to the citizens. Besides, the bidding will definitely promote the patriotic emotion and pride, as well as the moral behavior in local people. In most cases, bidding for the Olympics is well supported by both the public and the central government.
Unfortunately, this is not the entire view of the pretty picture. If looking from another angle, the Olympic bid might bring about some side-effects to a city.
First of all, the environmental impacts, including the increasing exhaust fumes of cars, more pressure on water resources, huge amount of wasted leaflets and other materials used for public activities, are most probably neglected. In order to broaden the streets, some trees may have to be cut. Near the construction site, the tiny dust may linger in the air for a long time. Reduction of farmland may be caused by the need of setting up new sports centre or accommodation facilities. These environmental consequences can be especially serious in a resource-limited and densely-populated city in a third-world country.
Besides, if talking about the economic benefit, it should not be forgotten that a quick boosting may lead to bubble growth, which may easily crash. If not well managed and organized, the big event may not be so profitable, and the new facilities may be forever empty after the games. Yes, there have been cases that host cities ended up with enormous debts.
Finally, let’s think about the low-income groups in the city. What will they get from the Olympics bidding? More tax, more fees, more expensive property prices, and higher cost of living. These definitely are not good news for them.
To bid or not to, this is a question. It is up to the choice of the municipal government, and the local public. After the decision, what they can do is to make the most of the benefit, and reduce the drawbacks to the least.

奥运会英语作文篇(5):奥运英语作文 关于北京奥运会闭幕式的

 关于北京奥运会闭幕式的(About Beijing Olympic Closing Ceremony)
The closing ceremony must take place in the stadium after the end of all the events. The flag bearers of the participating delegations and the name-board-bearers enter the stadium in single file. Behind them march the athletes, without distinction of nationality.
The flag bearers then form a semi-circle behind the rostrum.
The President of the IOC and the President of the OCOG mount the rostrum. To the sounds of the Greek national anthem, the Greek flag is hoisted on the flagpole that stands to the right of the central flagpole used for the winners" flags. The flag of the host country is then hoisted on the central flagpole, while its anthem is played. Finally, the flag of the host country of the next Olympic Games is hoisted on the lefthand flagpole to the strains of its anthem.
The mayor of the host city joins the President of the IOC on the rostrum and returns to him the Olympic flag. The president of the IOC then entrusts it to the mayor of the host city of the following Olympic Games. This flag must be displayed in the latter city"s main municipal building.
After an address by the President of the OCOG, the President of the IOC gives the closing speech of the Olympic Games, which he ends with these words:
"I declare the Games of the ... Olympiad closed and, in accordance with tradition, I call upon the youth of the world to assemble four years from now at ... to celebrate with us there the Games of the ... Olympiad".
A fanfare then sounds; the Olympic flame is extinguished, and while the Olympic anthem is being played, the Olympic flag is slowly lowered from the flagpole and, unfurled horizontally, carried out of the arena, followed by the flag bearers. A farewell song resounds.

奥运会英语作文篇(7):奥运英语作文:我最喜欢的中国体操队员(The Chinese gymnast I like best)

奥运英语作文:我最喜欢的中国体操队员(The Chinese gymnast I like best)
In 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, Li Xiaopeng and his teammates were outstanding, winning gold in the prestigious men"s team event, a first for China"s gymnasts. Li Xiaopeng also won an individual gold medal in the parallel bars.
However, due to a severe foot injury, Li"s performance in 2004 Athens Olympic Games was unsatisfying. China finished 5th in the men"s team final and Li only got a bronze in parallel bars after he had been unbeaten since 2000 in major competitions. Li Xiaopeng was tortured by a long-time ankle injury and eventually had an operation in 2005.
In 2008, after suffering through yet another injury, this time in his toe, he came back to compete in the Chinese Nationals and took gold in parallel bars in two World Cups, thus surpassing Li Ning in the number of world titles.
If Chinese men gymnastics can regain men"s team event? If Li Xiaopeng will win his second personal Olympic gold medals? I hope so!

奥运会英语作文篇(9):奥运英语作文:中国跳水队(Diving into Gold: China"s Dream Team)

奥运英语作文:中国跳水队(Diving into Gold: China"s Dream Team)
For China"s diving team, nothing speaks louder of their "dream team”. China has unquestioned domination in diving. The Chinese diving team claimed five golds at 2000 Sydney Olympics and further took a record six at 2004 Athens Olympics, contributing more Olympic golds for China than other Chinese teams.
They have full confidence in the Beijing Olympics, Some of players are quite young, and they may be nervous to compete at home, they must be more physically and mentally strong."
With "Diving Queen" Guo Jingjing and Olympic gold winner Wu Minxia, China has almost secured the golds in the women"s three-meter springboard, both individual and synchronized. However, they also have a weak point in the men"s 10-meter platform.
Anyway, we are ready to celebrate that Chinese Dream Team to get all 8 gold medals, aren’t we?

奥运会英语作文篇(10):高考英语作文:2008年奥运会和我_1500字

The year of 2008 is getting closer and closer to us. We need to take actions from now on to prepare for the game. What we need to do most is to work on our disadvantages and shortcomings. As a student of Senior high, I can do my own part. Although I can’t transform our city into more a beautiful place on my own, I can help Beijing in small ways and encourage our classmates and people around me to follow my lead.
Let me take the environment for example, the atmosphere around Beijing is quite disappointing, factories and cars keep giving off exhausts into the air, we can hardly see the blue sky with our naked eyes, because the sky is covered with a thick layer of harmful substances. The sky is gray instead of blue. To our delight, the government has passed some laws of protecting the air, and we can do something useful, too. For example, whenever we go out for a long distance, ride the bike or take the buses and subways instead of taxis. You may not have a clue how it works. Of course doing that only by one person is far from enough, but we can let more people do that together. In that case the result may be more than we bargained for.
Another thing we need to work on is our English skills. Teachers and parents often put great emphasis on our English skills especially listening and speaking. I want to be a volunteer in 2008, to be an interpreter. For now, I must do something helpful to improve my spoken English. Rome isn’t build in a day, so is English. It can’t be improved in a day or two. It takes time and energy. There are no shortcuts to improve your spoken English; the most productive way is to grab all opportunities around you to open your mouth. For instance, taking part in all kinds of English contests is a good way, you can meet some excellent contestants, and you can share the experience of learning and some good method of learning. I will keep participating in all English activities to polish up my English. I’m sure by the year of 2008, I will be able to master English well just as my mother tongue.
All in all, I’m sure that Beijing Olympic Games will be one of the most successful Games in history. I believe our long-cherished dream will be fulfilled in a perfect way!
