I earnestly hope to lead a healthy and prosperous life in the future. Judging from my aptitude inclination and personality streaks, my ideal life will be that of a scientist, researching, lecturing, and writing books. As I am from a farming family, I particularly enjoy being close to earth. If I can afford to live a pastoral life in the countryside, I will feel most blessed. As far as social life is concerned, simplicity is what I intend to pursue, so I really don"t need too many friends. All these will be mere talk if I am idle now. To attain my goal, I must make a point of training my body and mind. This is a highly competitive society in which everyone is eager to come out on top. That is not only a competition of physical strength and mental power, but a marathon of patience, faith, and perseverance. Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams.
However, we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great. When we were little kids, we all dreamed of doing something big and splashy, something significant. Now what we need to do is to maintain them, refresh them and turn them into reality. However, the toughest part is that we often have no ideas how to translate these dreams into actions. Well, just start with concrete objectives and stick to it. Don’t let the nameless fear confuse the eye and confound our strong belief of future. Through our talents, through our wits, through our endurance and through our creativity, we will make it.
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today.
从小到大我有过许多的愿望，有些实现了，有些没实现。快到新年了，我又有了一个心愿，那就是明年能考上一中的素质班。
为了这个心愿，我开始了努力的拼搏：每天上网找英语语法、概念、单词，看完后把它们存起来，下次再温习。有同学说我这样很累，会减短自己的寿命，我笑了笑，没说什么。他们哪懂我的辛苦！不过我知道，如果现在不努力，以后会更苦、更累！为了自己的将来，现在苦一点也是值得的。
我不仅找英语，复习英语，我还上网找奥数题，找阅读题。只有这样，才能扎好基本功，为升学考试做铺垫。
我现在很努力，不只是为了自己的将来，还为了缩短实力的差距。我知道，考试的时候不只是我们十二小的人考试，还有一小、二小······我要努力，努力，再努力，只有越努力才能缩短实力的差距。没有哪个人一生下来就是天才，也没有哪个人一生下来就是蠢才，一分耕耘才有一分收获，这是恒久不变的真理。我决定现在要比以前更努力，像一块海绵，到知识的海洋里吸取，这样才能进入一中。
